As Bodh’aktan they prefer creating a mixture of french rock with traditional-folkloristic influences, all that packed in really lively and danceable rhythyms. The musical base is always a combination of rock instruments like the electric guitar and folk instruments like the violin or the accordion.
Short and crispy, Alexandre Richard, Alain Barriault, Robert Langlois, Éric Tanguay, Jonathan Moorman, Éric Gousy and Luc Bourgeois kick off with a track which could be representative for the whole album. Positive, driven and with a good pace, guitar, base, drums and the vocals work on the musical field and make the feet of the listener shake. Constantly, the six guys try to keep the party atomsphere. Therefore, they use all the gifts they can find in the world of folk rock. Songs with a high recognition value , varied and with their own style, stream out of the boxes.
Au diable les remords transports the feeling of joy and happiness really authentically into the living room and as a not native speaker,there’s no problem with accepting the french singing. Rich dynamic, lots of steam blowing out of the “folk tank” and a well-done songwriting deliver more than the so often heard standard songs.Well-produced, passionate, original and catchy, two loved genres unite in a musical potpourri of joy. This record is really a well done album which should enhance the self confidence of the band. I think it’s able to be succesful beyond the borders of Quebec.

Stark ist sie die fröhliche und verspielte Seite dieser sechs Kanadier auf ihrem kürzlich erschienenen Album “Au diable les remords“. Als Bodh’aktan kreieren sie bevorzugt eine Mischung aus französisch-sprachigem Rock mit traditionell-folkloristischen Einflüssen, das Ganze verpackt in sehr lebendige und tanzbare Rhythmen. Das Grundgerüst der Musik ist hierbei stets die gelungene Kombination von Rockinstrumenten wie der E-Gitarre und Folkinstrumenten wie der Geige oder dem Akkordeon.
Kurz und knackig legen Alexandre Richard, Alain Barriault, Robert Langlois, Éric Tanguay, Jonathan Moorman, Éric Gousy und Luc Bourgeois mit einer Nummer los, die stellvertretend für den Rest des Albums stehen könnte. Positiv verspielt, fetzig und treibend beackern Gitarre, Bass, Schlagzeug und der mehrstimmige Gesang das musikalische Feld und lassen die Füße des Zuhörers unkontrolliert mit zucken. Fortwährend auf dieser Platte bemüht sich hier die Sechserbande die Stimmung hoch und die Songs partytauglich zu halten. Dabei bedienen sie sich am reichhaltigen Gabentisch des Folk Rock Genre. Songs mit Wiedererkennungswert, abwechslungsreich und in einem ganz eigenen Stil ertönen hier aus den Lautsprecherboxen.
Au diable les remords transportiert das Lebensgefühl von Spaß und Freude äußerst authentisch in das heimische Wohnzimmer, den französischen Gesang nimmt man als Nicht-Muttersprachler dabei gerne in Kauf. Reichhaltige Dynamik, ordentlich Dampf auf dem “Folk-Kessel” und gelungenes Songwriting bieten hier mehr als die so oft gehörte Standardsolidität. Gut produziert, leidenschaftlich, originell und eingängig vereinen sich hier zwei liebgewonnen Genre zu einem musikalisch hörbaren Potpourie der Freude. Diese Platte ist wahrlich ein gelungenes Album welches das musikalische Selbstbewusstsein der Band stärken sollte und ihnen auch in Zukunft über die Grenzen Québec’s hinaus Erfolg bescheren kann.
